Maria Maunsbach, born 1990 in Höör.
In autumn 2025 Maria releases both a new novel, En magisk man, and premieres her play En jättehärlig dag at Folkteatern in Gothenburg.
Her most recent book, Lucky Lada och jag (2022), was critically acclaimed and has sold over twenty thousand copies.
Maria made her debut in 2018 with the well-received Bara ha roligt, followed in 2019 by her second novel, Hit, men inte längre.
She also works as a playwright and culture writer. Once a month she writes the column Lärdomar från veckan (“Lessons from the week”) in Svenska Dagbladet.
In spring 2021 Maria received the City of Malmö’s cultural grant for artistic development.
In May 2022 she made her debut as a playwright with the play En magisk man for Malmö Dockteater.
In 2022 Maria was awarded the Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan author’s prize.
